Description: Corrour, Glencoe | Autumn Landscape Oil Painting & Fine Art Print
During my recent journey to Glencoe, Scotland, I was deeply inspired by the majestic Scottish Highlands and the ever-changing colors of the landscape. As I traveled toward Fort William, accompanied by a long-time friend, I was mesmerized by the rugged mountains, dramatic skies, and vast moorlands that stretched before us. The raw beauty of the Highlands was overwhelming, presenting a natural color palette unlike anything I had ever seen. Compelled to capture this atmospheric landscape, I immediately turned to my portable paint set, creating plein air color studies and detailed preparatory sketches. Each brushstroke reflected the changing light, mist-covered peaks, and rich earthy tones that define Scotland’s wilderness. Alongside these paintings, I meticulously documented the journey through photographs and notes, ensuring I could translate the experience into a series of fine art landscape paintings.
Now, in my Manchester studio, I have developed these initial studies into a collection of seven Highland paintings, each encapsulating the magic of Glencoe’s dramatic scenery, deep valleys, and powerful atmosphere. This series is a tribute to Scotland’s rugged terrain, where the interplay of light and shadow creates a landscape that feels both ancient and timeless
